Sealwise WCB can be used with standard woodworking machines or hand tools. Another advantage: Sealwise WCB causes much less wear on saw blades and chisels compared to MDF or particleboard.

To determine the optimal cutting speeds, it is wise to first test your equipment. Generally, the speed of the rotating parts can be reduced in relation to material removal.

Make sure that your machines or cutting and milling tools do not overheat during use. Overheating can lead to clogging and material buildup.

Sealwise WCB cuts exceptionally well thanks to its closed-cell core. Due to the tolerance levels of the panels, we recommend measuring the length and width before cutting. This ensures a precise cut.

If you want to process Sealwise WCB on a CNC machine, use cutting tools suitable for wood or plastics. We recommend using a single-fluted, slotted bit when scoring or engraving to remove chips. An example of cutting speeds based on our calculations: for a 6 mm upcut router bit, we recommend 18,000 RPM with a feed rate of 4 m/min. However, this is only a guideline. We advise testing your own tools before starting.

Sealwise WCB comes with a protective film. The film is suitable for use with CNC routers.

Finishing an edge on Sealwise WCB is relatively straightforward. In principle, the same techniques are used as with MDF and particleboard. When using a hot-melt glue machine, we recommend using transparent hot-melt glue. Also, always check the panel tolerance before trimming the edge.

After checking the tolerance, note the batch number or VK code. This prevents the glue machine from cutting into the board during edge trimming. Laser machines and PU edgebanders can also be used. It is recommended to test your machines with Sealwise WCB beforehand.

Electric and hand tools—such as chop saws, rip saws, routers, jigsaws, or planers—can be used effortlessly, in the same way as you would with wood.

Almost any screw is suitable for Sealwise WCB, including self-tapping screws and bolts. Unlike wood, where a thread must first be made, screws or bolts can be driven directly into Sealwise WCB. The screw retention of Sealwise WCB is excellent and performs much better than MDF and particleboard.
