Support Plates for Control Panels, a Specialty of boer&vanwijk

Control panels are complex, composite products. All the information we print on the control panel serves as the interface for operating the equipment via a support plate. This support plate is fully prepared with all physical requirements before we at Boer & Van Wijk apply the film as the finishing touch.

The support plate itself is a masterpiece: all components needed for membrane switches or touchscreens, including the correct cut-outs, press-fit bolts, spacers, and light guide rods, are integrated—everything within a tolerance of 0.02 mm. We often use aluminum sheet for control panels. After milling, these panels—also called bridge panels—are usually anodized in any desired RAL color. For luxury yacht building, we naturally use aluminum AW5083 or any material specifically requested by the client.

For the manufacturing of these panels, advanced expertise and high-quality equipment are an absolute requirement. We are therefore pleased to have found the perfect partner in this field and outsource this work to these specialists. The main selection criterion was our own quality standard for control panels. This standard begins as soon as the order arrives; first, we check the CNC file for processing the panel and compare it with the image file for the film. Only after our approval does the file for panel processing go to the manufacturer of the base panel.
