A photo on real glass is a custom solution from Boer & Van Wijk. Available in any desired size
We print your photo directly onto 4 or 6 mm tempered glass. Our glass is truly real glass and is hardened in an oven and neatly beveled all around before printing. The printing process is done directly on the back side of the glass in 6-color full color plus opaque white.
To prevent any damage to the print, we apply a white protective film over the image after printing—of course, this is completely invisible. The printing process takes place on a large Swiss-made UV flatbed printer, ensuring quality and precision.
Can the glass be supplied in a thicker version?
Yes, absolutely. For example, 6 or 8 mm thick. The thickness of the glass also depends on the intended application and the size of your Photo on Glass panel. If you would like a thicker option, we will gladly provide a price quote in advance. It is also possible to have a glass panel with 4 or more drill holes so that a Photo on Glass panel can be mounted with stainless steel spacers. These exceptions are considered custom work, which means different prices apply than those listed below!
What is the difference between Photo on Glass and Plexiglass?
We can do both, but our specialty is Photo on Real Glass. Real glass is slightly more scratch-resistant than Plexiglass or Acrylic. Photo on Glass is less likely to warp, which can happen with Plexiglass in larger sizes.
Glass has a more natural look than Plexiglass or Acrylic, and Photo on Glass is also not static and does not attract dust.
On the other hand, Photo on Plexiglass is slightly more affordable than Photo on Real Glass.
Many companies claim your photo is printed on glass, but in reality, it is often printed on Plexiglass (plastic glass). Boer & Van Wijk is one of the few companies in the Netherlands that actually prints on real tempered glass as well as Plexiglass!

Floating Mounting System
After your Photo on Glass is printed on the back side (in reverse), we attach a mounting plate or strip to the printed side so that your Photo on Glass appears to float on the wall. At the bottom of the panel, we add two spacer caps to create a gap of about 1 cm between the photo panel and the wall. Depending on the size, one or more mounting plates will be installed. For very large formats, we add an aluminum strip around the edges for stability and weight distribution. This ensures your Photo on Glass hangs even more beautifully on the wall.

What does a Photo on Glass cost at boer&vanwijk? Below are some calculation examples
Any size is possible with us, up to a maximum of 300 x 200 cm. Within that range, you can choose any desired format. To keep things simple, we work with a fixed price per square meter plus start-up costs per product.
Here’s a tip: it’s best to consider a photo ratio of 2:3.
Most photos are taken in this ratio.
Examples include 60 x 90 cm, 90 x 120 cm, etc.
The price per square meter for Photo on Glass is €495, including VAT and shipping costs.

Transport Costs for a Photo on Glass
All Photo on Glass panels are shipped free of charge within the Netherlands and Belgium. This applies to all sizes as long as they do not exceed 175 x 78 cm and a maximum weight of 31.5 kg.
Anything beyond these limits can no longer be shipped via PostNL, and we will provide a separate quote so it can be sent using an overnight transport service.
Who can order a Photo on Glass?
Anyone can! We supply to consumers as well as businesses, museums, professional photographers, and photo retailers. You’ll find our Photo on Glass panels in hospitals, dental practices, photo exhibitions, and of course in private homes. We make no distinction in print or material quality—whether it’s for a consumer or a company, the quality is always the same.
What is the delivery time for a Photo on Glass?
Your Photo on Glass will be delivered within a maximum of 3 weeks after we receive your order and payment. We need this time to prepare your photo product with the utmost care and quality. We ship your Photo on Glass via PostNL and can always provide a track & trace code so you have an indication of the delivery day and time.
How does payment for a Photo on Glass work?
After placing your order, you will receive an invoice from us. We kindly ask you to pay this invoice promptly.
Once payment is received, your Photo on Glass goes into production and your order is confirmed.
What should the file meet?
As mentioned above, you can email us a print file. It’s important that your file is a high-resolution JPG or PDF (at least 150 dpi at actual size). The larger the file, the better.
Our studio will check your submitted file for quality before we start the production process of Photo on Glass. If necessary, we can adjust the file for an additional fee of €29 including VAT.
Sharpness will be checked, and any cropping will be determined in consultation with you.
