Screen printing delivers color accuracy, scratch resistance, and durability—even under extreme conditions.
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a screen frame with a stretched polyester mesh. Various mesh types are available in different densities, which determine the amount of ink deposited on the product. For each print color, a separate screen frame is used. Before printing begins, the screen is made light-sensitive. Then, the screen film is applied to the mesh and exposed to light. The film blocks the light in certain areas, preventing those parts of the mesh from hardening.
This process creates a print pattern, also known as a stencil. Once the screen is prepared, it is placed in the printing machine. Ink is then spread across the screen, and the product to be printed is positioned on the machine.
Using a rubber squeegee, the machine presses the ink through the mesh onto the product. Drying takes place either naturally or with the help of a UV lamp.
Screen printing is the ideal choice when high demands are placed on the print quality. This includes requirements such as a specific ink layer thickness, color accuracy for outdoor use, and exceptional wear resistance. It’s also perfect for products with special dimensions or unique shapes. This printing method is widely used in the maritime sector, the aviation and lighting industries, and high-tech companies also rely on Boer & Van Wijk for their screen printing needs.
When you think of screen printing, you often think of printing on textiles. That’s something we don’t do at Boer & Van Wijk. Textiles create a lot of dust, which is not desirable in our company because we print many high-quality products that must remain dust-free.
For special materials, we first make a test print to assess adhesion and scratch resistance. We do this free of charge.

Boer & Van Wijk can digitally print foils and stickers in virtually any shape and color using our Epson roll-to-roll printers.
Wood products and wooden panels are not only well-suited for digital printing, but also ideal for screen printing.
Glass and plexiglass make truly beautiful products, which we can print perfectly on our SwissQ flatbed printer.
Plastic sheets or Sealwise panels can be printed and cut with V-Cut technology to a thickness of up to 8 mm.
Honeycomb cardboard with a respectable thickness of up to 40 mm can be printed, cut, and V-Cut processed.
These special films can be printed, embossed, and cut. A unique product we are proud to offer at Boer & Van Wijk.
Got an idea for something special? We can handle new materials such as wood, metal, dibond, and others.
We work with PMS and RAL colors, but it’s also possible to mix a custom color based on a sample. For recurring orders, we often have the colors mixed at the factory. This creates a fixed mixing formula with an order number, ensuring the color is always consistent.
At Boer & Van Wijk, we keep everything in-house, from the design phase in our studio and producing screen printing films to the actual printing and finishing. This way, we maintain full control over the production process and can keep you informed about progress at any time.
Boer & Van Wijk has several screen printing machines, each with a specific print size. Our maximum print size is 2100 x 1100 mm, and of course, anything smaller than that can also be screen printed with us. This includes products with unusual shapes. For more information, feel free to contact us.
It’s quite common for us to combine screen printing with digital printing. For example, applying a full-color (digital) print on a screen-printed base. Combining these two graphic techniques is custom work and requires close communication with the client.
It’s fascinating to see how a traditional technique can be paired with a high-end printing process! Often, these foils are finished with embossing, creating a truly tactile button.

Punching is mainly used in sheet material processing. A punching machine is used for this purpose. Especially for high volumes and repetitive work, punching is fast and cost-effective.
Sawing materials is mainly used for materials that are too hard to cut, such as plastic sheets, especially for larger quantities and bigger formats.
Milling materials is mainly used for materials that are too hard to cut, such as plastic sheets, especially when dealing with larger quantities and significant thicknesses.
Boer & Van Wijk has its own in-house installation team, consisting of two highly experienced graphic specialists. The installation team is a major showcase of Boer & Van Wijk’s expertise.
Reliable, colorfast, scratch-resistant, and built to withstand extreme conditions.
